1. Sensitivity & Pressure Range
The new pen is a significant improvement in terms of sensitivity. I can now write at much lower angles, which is fantastic for shading and delicate line work. The pressure range is also a huge step up—just the lightest touch is enough to activate it, and the transition between pressure levels feels smoother and more detailed. This allows for much more controlled drawing, from fine, thin lines to bold, thick strokes. It’s a big improvement over the old pen. The only downside to this is that the delete function got more sensitive as well which is not so good because it happens to fast that I start deleting to much of an area. Still this is an minor issue which can be fixed by just beeing mindful while using the pen.
2. Build Quality & Feel
The new pen feels much more solid and tight, which is a stark contrast to the older model that had some rattling parts. The “clicky” feel of the older pen was a bit distracting, but I don’t miss that at all with the new one. The absence of the spring in the tip doesn’t seem to affect performance at all, which is a pleasant surprise.
3. Tip Design
The sharp tips on the new pen don’t feel quite as crisp as those on the old one. The old ones offered a more natural pencil-like experience. On the flip side, the round tips on the new pen are an upgrade. They feel smoother, almost like a premium ballpoint pen, which adds to the overall smoothness of the drawing experience.
4. Tip Storage
One minor drawback with the new pen is the tip storage. The tips no longer fit perfectly into the small compartment in the case. However, after a bit of maneuvering, you can still squeeze them in, but I would have liked a more secure, snug fit.
5. Build Design & Weight
The new pen is slightly larger, but it doesn’t feel too big in the hand. For me, the size is not an issue. However, I do wish the pen were a bit heavier. I prefer heavier pens, and while this new one is almost the same weight as the old one, a little added heft would make it feel more premium. A cool feature for the future would be the ability to adjust the weight—something like the removable weights in gaming mice. That would make this pen perfect for me.
6. Durability & Overall Feel
A big improvement in the new model is the removal of the plastic piece that held the tips in the old pen—mine was actually broken when it arrived. The lack of this part in the new design feels like a more streamlined and durable choice.
7. Customization & Aesthetic
While this is more of a personal touch, it would be great if there were options to choose the finish, color, and texture of the pen. Even offering a few shades of gray would be a nice touch for those who care about the look and feel of their tools.
Final Thoughts
Overall, I’m absolutely thrilled with the new Viwoods tablet pen. It’s a noticeable upgrade in almost every area, from sensitivity to design. While there are a couple of minor things that could be improved (like the tip storage, weight and delete sensitivity), the overall experience is far superior. Every time I use it, I feel more excited to create. I’m looking forward to seeing what improvements come in future models, but as of now, I’m a very satisfied. Keep up the great work, Viwoods!

Just received the new W2 stylus. This is definitely a better build than the stylus that came with the viwoods. The original stylus feels shaky but this is solidly built. This is also longer and heavier, giving it a more premium fell. The nibs are different as shown in the photos attached. It came with 1 hard nib and 3 soft nibs. Writing feel is better since it is less shaky. Loving it so far! Thank you viwoods, you just keep improving!

The soft leads are very pleasant to use.
The pencil itself feels good in the hand, despite an initial feeling of a "low-stroke" stylus (you can feel its movement inside).
However, once you've got the pen in your hand, you'll forget all about this 1st impression.
