Viwoods AiPaper

Very happy with my purchase. This is a small piece of art but great. Not loud but speaks quality. I just love it.
One thing though, just ensure the updates are consistent with meaningful content.

this is my first e-ink tablet. using it for taking notes regularly and for reading lots of pdf files. Haven't tried other formats so far.
+ display is crisp and feels good for eyes.
+ software is well designed and feels efficient (mostly)
+ other EMR pens work good, if you prefer different grip or pen feel.
- some parts of software can be improved (i believe the Viwoods team is doing it actively). the recent software update is good, but needs some finetuning (e.g. anti-aliasing lag sometimes is observable). please add screen rotation or option to rotate document for landscape formats. some easier reading mode for pdfs with smaller fonts etc.
- wish to see the PU leather cover in option.
i think i will discover more as i continue to use it.

Truly a great device, worked flawlessly out of the box. Very well designed, constant updates to improve software, great to sketch and doodle on.
Using the beautiful display for comics as well, I decided to hold of on a color display and the carta 1300 is truly amazing.

I did two solid months of researching every brand, style, whatever of e-ink tablets. I felt like I was going insane due to all the options and most feeling pretty similar. I stumbled upon ViWoods in a random reddit post and really liked the price included everything (case, pen, tablet). Most other companies were charging $100+ for each additional item and when you're hitting almost $900 for a literal notebook, no thanks. I went towards ViWoods for that reason plus it's access to the Internet/Google play store (so I can access my school's apps). I wanted to save some trees and download my notes to organize. I mainly use the Learning section for my notes and organization and for any epub files I've acquired. I'm a language and writing major so this may not fit all students' needs! I'm really happy with this device overall. I'm only giving it 4 stars because it is newer, more features are upcoming, and I would really love more personalization options all around. Different pens, cases, etc.
Battery wise, I've charged this once to full in the week I've had it. I've used it at least 2 hours every day and it's around 70% after 5 days of usage. That's with wifi/without wifi, connected to a Bluetooth keyboard and Bluetooth turned off.

My 15lbs dog did jump on it directly (with case on) and no damage lol. But I mainly baby my tech so I really can't speak on quality just yet. The pen is a solid okay, I love a good pen, the built in eraser + eraser button is really neat. Nothing really to write home about.
I don't really get the "it feels like writing on paper!" thing. It doesn't feel like paper to me, it's very very smooth. I'm sure the larger brands do this better but again, I needed access to the Internet.

Admittedly I cannot compare it to the bigger name brands, but this fits my needs now and for the next couple years while I pursue more school.

The e-ink screen is so nice on my eyes. Less migraines. Less blue light. Less stress! I've only had a Kindle in the e-ink world, but I do like this so much better.

I don't mind the no backlight either. I don't really read or write in complete darkness.

I think I covered everything! If this helped you make a decision, awesome, great! I think this is a wonderful device, but again, I have only a basic Kindle to compare it to.
