The actual device is good, the cost is great, but there is definitely room for improvement.
I’m also happy with the size of the mini, but am intrigued to see what the full sized viwoods looks like and acts like if it has better screen and hardware specs.
The task taking / Daily capabilities feel like they were designed by someone with an unusual approach to task management. It would benefit hugely from a system wide way of collating tasks and then either being day/time specific, or, just a list of tasks. Because of how Daily works, I’ve ended up just using a Paper note for my tasks.
Memo feels like it could be a useful feature, but it *needs* better system-wide access. It just isn’t visible enough (Home Screen etc..) to be useful.
The device can be too sluggish at times, and seems to sometimes miss taps. It is hard to tell if the device missed the tap, or the software is busy processing something else.
The shape recognition feature doesn’t work according to the manual - you can’t draw arrows or make uniform shapes.
Getting data onto the device is both clear and confusing - I’ve found it better to just use CxExplorer app from GooglePlayStore (and then use SMB to my laptop) along with Tailscale. But, I’m pretty technical so this is easy for me to understand. The stock experience is confusing if you want to load files outside of those supported.
And lots of other little bits.
Overall I’m very happy, and hopefully the things mentioned above are all fixable in software. And, it seems like Viwoods is doing frequent software updates, so I’m excited to see progress.
